Biography

Using their music as an outlet for artistic and musical opportunities, Saint Sophia is a group of four men originally from Boulder, CO. What Peter Barnett, Devon Bryant, Brendan Crich, and Jesse Iiams found they shared was the common goal to not make music their primary source of influence. Rather, they wanted to take creative pieces of movies, books, and the power of visually captive fine art. In search of a more artistically liberal atmosphere, the group moved to Seattle, WA, in the fall of 1999. They recorded their first album, Example: I Die on My Own Knees at Purplefish Studios. Saint Sophia's sound has been described by fans as being inspired by Gary Numan but with a twist of Velvet Underground. ~ Diana Potts, All Music Guide
