Guitarist Tom Lavin, bassist Jack Lavin and a keyboard player formed Powder Blues Band in 1978, later adding trumpeter Mark Hasselbach, drummer Duris Maxwell and saxophonists Wayne Kozak, Gordie Bertram and David Woodward.
