The Canadian branch of Universal Music has promised to deliver a record deal to the Miley Cyrus-esque winner of The Instant Star. The reality show will air on YTV—a Canadian cable channel for kids—through July 18, as a slew of 15-and-under kids battle for a coveted Universal Music Canada spot alongside such roster standbys as Shania Twain, Diana Krall and Nelly Furtado.
