Val Kilmer has hardly been seen or heard from in recent years. After a string of blockbusters and high profile roles through the 1990s, like playing Batman/Bruce Wayne in 1995's Batman Forever, the actor dropped out of sight, appearing mostly in indie flicks like 10th & Wolf and Wonderland. Kilmer's returning to the world of independent film, this time in The Thaw.
The Thaw is a bone-chilling thriller about a team of researchers doing work in the bitter cold Arctic when they are attacked by parasites that developed due to melting polar ice caps. Kilmer will be joined by Martha MacIsaac and Aaron Ashmore. Shooting is currently underway in Vancouver. Brrr.
