The 2008 remake of Bad Lieutenant is going swimmingly, with Eva Mendes in negotiations to take a role in the film about a soulless corrupt cop. Nicolas Cage is already onboard to star as the title character in this update of the controversial 1992 original.
This won't be the first time Cage and Mendes have worked together. The duo appeared in 2007's Ghost Rider, which burned up at the box office. Filming for the remake begins in late summer.
