Boy George Cancels North American Tour

    Wed, 02 Jul 2008 10:16:19

    His first in forever

Boy George has been forced to nix his North American tour because of legal problems overseas, stemming from an arrest last year where a Norwegian male escort claimed he was falsely imprisoned by the former Culture Club frontman. The U.S. denied George's work visa because of the pending case.

"I love America and I am really sad that it appears that I am not allowed to visit a place I have called home at various times in my life," George said in a statement. "But what has happened to me has nothing to do with the American people—they are kind people with big hearts."

The pop star's tour would have started in Aspen, CO, on July 10, and wrapped up in Dallas, TX, on August 23. His next scheduled dates are a tour through the UK, running from an August 21 stop in Strathclyde, Scotland, to a November 2 gig in Brighton, England.
