    All Music Guide Review

This is a twisted little collection of '70s tunes, all of them original versions by the artists who had hits with them. From Gallery's "Nice to Be with You," and the Looking Glass' "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" and Charlie Rich's "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World" to Dobie Gray's "Drift Away," Harold Melvin's proto-disco smash "The Love I Lost," the Chi-Lites' "Oh Girl" and Mott the Hoople's "All the Young Dudes." The musical styles are so divergent and seemingly random one can get lost or frustrated easily, but CD players have programming tools so it can be set up in different ways. The only thing that's missing and should be included in this set is "Dancing in the Moonlight," by King Harvest, which would have rounded out the one-offs side of the set perfectly. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
