Following the surprise success of "Kiss," his collaboration with the art-dance outfit the Art of Noise, Tom Jones recorded Move Closer, a collection of state-of-the-art late-'80s dance-pop. While the music isn't as ambitious or provocative as "Kiss," most of the album was well-produced and well-crafted, making it his best, most convincing record since Darlin'. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
