All Music Guide Review

Wah-Dee-Dah is a nice two-disc set chronicling the rise of Cab Calloway's rise to fame starting two years before he broke into the public eye in 1932 and following him to the height of his fame in 1942. The necessity of this collection is based around it being two discs, which makes it a nice place to start if one is looking for something deeper than the many single-disc collections already available, but not so exhausting as the many box sets also available. Wah-Dee-Dah covers Calloway's biggest hits, like "Minnie the Moocher" and "(Hep-Hep!) The Jumpin' Jive," as well as some nice performances on "The Scat Song" and the title track of this collection. ~ Gregory McIntosh, All Music Guide
