    All Music Guide Review

As Nektar began grinding to a halt, Passport released this compilation of the band's best work. It's a well-chosen collection that ranges from such space oddities as "Dream Nebula" to the epic acid-prog of "Remember the Future." Thru the Ears eschews a chronological approach in its sequencing, which at least allows it to progress from the sappy single "Do You Believe In Magic?" to the bleak conclusion of "It's All Over Now." Although now replaced by CD compilations, like the flawed Highlights and the superior Dream Nebula, a used LP of this release is a good and inexpensive way for a newcomer to get their feet wet. ~ Paul Collins, All Music Guide
