Best of British Blues, Vol. 2 compiles a solid cross-section of mid- to late-'60s British blues bands. The bands in this British blues boom combined the amped-up intensity of rock & roll with the forms and improvisational content inspired by the likes of such iconic black American artists as Muddy Waters and Otis Rush. Included here are cuts by Fleetwood Mac, Taste, and Blodwyn Pig. The album not only demonstrates how these bands popularized blues for the hippie generation, but also paved the way for what would become the classic rock of the 1970s. While collectors probably have most of the tracks here, this is sill a nice single-disc introduction to this influential music.~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide
