    Live Evolution (CD & DVD)

    10/07/2003 | Sanctuary Records

    All Music Guide Review

This is another of the Sanctuary Records Groups' live CD with a DVD of the show installments. The DVD reflects exactly what is on the CD. Sanctuary licensed this one from Japan, and the sonics prove it. An absolutely killer mix of this show from the post-Chris DeGarmo era, this is nonetheless a very decent live gig that encompasses the entirety of Queensrÿche's career. "Queen of the Reich," is here, as is "Revolution Calling," and "Suite Sister Mary." Geoff Tate is in fine voice, and the energy of Queensrÿche when they're applying themselves is all here -- check out the performances of "Screaming In Digital," "Hit the Black," and even "Silent Lucidity." The DVD site lines are solid, and the resolution is better than on most live DVDs, but it still feels unnecessary. In all, fans of Queensrÿche will have no problem dropping the dollar for this one -- and will play the living hell out of the CD. ~ Thom Jurek, All Music Guide
