Adorable are not one of the bands on Creation that people think of when they think of the past glory of the U.K. indie giant. Still, they were pretty darn good. The four-track Sistine Chapel Ceiling EP shows the band at its peak. "Sistine Chapel Ceiling" is a manic blast of post-Bunnymen energy with a devoted vocal from Piotr Fijalkowski. It was the high point of the band's first album, the excellent Against Perfection. "Everything's Fine" is a dramatic track with cascading guitars and a hooky chorus featuring Fijalkowski getting in touch with his inner Ian. "Seasick Martyr" and "Obsessively Yours" are two more good post-shoegaze tracks bursting with guitars and attitude. Picking up this EP and the Against Perfection disc (if you can) will prove that there was more to the early '90s in the U.K. than swooning over Suede and waiting for the Stone Roses and MBV to return. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
