    All Music Guide Review

Pure Dance 1998 is an entertaining continuous-mix collection that runs through a number of big hits from 1996 and 1997. It contains a weird mixture of remixes, edits and original versions of hit singles and club favorites, highlighted by the Cardigans' "Lovefool," Freak Nasty's "Da' Dip," OMC's "How Bizarre," B-Rock & the Bizz's "My Baby Daddy," U2's "Discotheque," David Morales' "Wind Up Your Body" and Pulse's "The Lover That You Are." For some listeners, the continuous mix ploy may be annoying, but the end result is an entertaining party album. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
