    The Endless Jam Continues

    04/05/2005 | Shrapnel

    All Music Guide Review

Almost exactly one year after the first installment of the Endless Jam, this edition picks up right where the first one left off. Guitarist Michael Schenker has shorn his hair metal roots (but retained his signature flying V guitar) in favor of a blues jam with fellow rock veterans Davey Pattison and Aynsley Dunbar, and has the time of his life doing so. The production is polished and top-notch, and Schenker's guitar playing has never sounded so uninhibited by cosmetic metal pretense. The group jams on some of blues-rock's most well-known numbers, with an emphasis on compositions by or featuring Eric Clapton's touch ("While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Layla" and "Badge" among them). It's a solid disc that fans of Schenker will embrace with open arms. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
