All Music Guide Review

With their alt-country, folk, and call-it-what-you-want sound firmly entrenched in the Canadian music scene, the Waltons quietly built themselves a cult following, which in turn led to larger success and a major-label contract. This installment in the Essentials series takes a look at their ascension to the top of the Canadian music charts, concentrating largely on the group's formative years from 1992 to 1997. All the hits and fan favorites are included here, making it an ideal primer for casual listeners who have only recently turned their ears in the group's direction as well as a great disc for the die-hard fan who wants all the hits on one comprehensive disc. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
