The king and queen of the Southern soul and blues circuit get a half dozen tracks apiece on this joint effort. Unfortunately, the duo does not team up on this disc, both sessions being produced separately by Willie Mitchell, but these are no leftover cuts by a long shot. Rush smokes and burns on "I Need a Bed Partner," "Funky Way to Treat Your Woman" and "Makin' a Decision (Can Be Hard)," while White is both sexy and assertive sounding on tracks like "Get Your Lie Straight," "Down the Line" and "I Don't Want to Ever See Your Face Again." An excellent introduction to these modern day soul giants. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
