Not as intense as a lot of zydeco artists, but not devoid of their influence either, the Basin Brothers made a noteworthy contribution to Cajun music in 1990 with the inspired Let's Get Cajun. The members of this Louisiana band (who aren't really siblings) acknowledge zydeco's influence with "Zydeco Boomer-rang," but don't let that fool you -- for all intents and purposes, this is much more of a Cajun CD than a zydeco one. Most of the lyrics are in French rather than English, and the lyrics are very much a reflection of the Cajun culture the musicians have been surrounded by.
