Radial Entertainment Names Carrie Ferman COO to Drive Global Expansion
Ferman brings more than a quarter‑century of operational, strategic, and financial leadership from some of the world’s largest media houses. Most recently, she served as executive vice president of business strategy and operations at Sony Pictures Television (SPT), where she directed strategy, business development, operations, transformation, and digital content distribution for both domestic and international units. Her remit mirrored Radial’s integrated model, which blends content distribution, technology, and business functions into a single engine.
During her 12‑year tenure at Sony, Ferman modernized and automated the studio’s digital media supply chain, crafted a comprehensive growth plan for FAST channels, and led strategic portfolio reviews of SPT’s production, digital, and cable assets. She also executed multiple mergers and acquisitions and oversaw post‑acquisition integrations—experiences that align closely with Radial’s acquisition‑driven expansion.
Before returning to the United States, Ferman was senior vice president of strategy and M&A for Sony Pictures Television International in London. In that role she managed strategic planning for 22 companies across 18 countries, covering Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. She structured partnerships with creative talent and independent production companies to broaden Sony’s global content pipeline.
Her earlier career saw her in strategy and business‑development roles at NBC Universal and Time Warner, after launching her professional journey in corporate finance at The Walt Disney Company. She also served as chief executive officer of Remark Media, a publicly traded digital‑media company on Nasdaq, where she led a full organizational turnaround and secured an oversubscribed funding round.
Ferman earned an MBA with honors from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and philosophy from UCLA.
Radial Entertainment, the product of a merger between Shout and FilmRise, commands a library of more than 70,000 films and television episodes. The company distributes content across FAST, AVOD, SVOD, and TVOD platforms in more than 50 global markets. In her new role, Ferman will oversee strategic growth across Radial’s operations, lead the integration of new acquisitions into the platform, and drive cross‑functional coordination essential for scaling the catalog.
In a statement, Shultz said, “We’ve spent the last few months assembling a team and a platform built for global scale, and Carrie is exactly the operator we needed to take it to the next level. Her experience running operations, supply chain, and M&A integration at Sony at the level she did is a direct match for where Radial is headed. Her arrival puts the finishing touch on the management infrastructure we’ve been building, and I couldn’t be more confident in where we go from here.”
Ferman added, “Radial has built an incredibly powerful global engine spanning every major distribution format from FAST to theatrical across 50-plus markets. The momentum behind their strategy is undeniable. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on bridging growth strategy with rigorous operational execution to drive scale, enable market expansion and maximize efficiency. I am thrilled to partner with Jeff and the entire team to realize this next chapter of global growth and operational excellence.”
With Ferman’s appointment, Radial’s executive team now boasts leaders who have overseen large‑scale supply‑chain modernization, strategic portfolio reviews, and international expansion. The company’s focus on integrating acquisitions and scaling its extensive catalog positions it to capitalize on the growing demand for diverse content across multiple streaming and advertising‑supported platforms.
As Radial expands its distribution footprint, the addition of an executive with deep experience in operations and M&A signals the firm’s intent to strengthen its global infrastructure and accelerate the deployment of its content library across emerging markets.
